Project 1066 focuses on building confidence through directional dry brushing.

In this Curious Collage Society skill-building mixed media project, you’ll learn how repeated, intentional brush marks can create movement, rhythm, and cohesion across a collage surface. Instead of correcting or softening marks, the emphasis is on letting strokes remain visible and trusting repetition as a unifying force.

You’ll explore how direction—rather than coverage—guides the viewer’s eye. By practicing consistent, purposeful brushwork, dry brushing shifts from a cautious finishing technique into an expressive visual language that carries energy and intention.

This project is paired with Voluptuous Vixens, whose bold figures and strong forms are especially well suited to practicing confident, visible brushwork.
